Google seeing massive mobile search growth

GOOGLE’s mobile search volumes have seen fivefold growth over the last two years, with smartphone users seemingly driving the trend.

In Q1 2010, mobile search by smartphone users increased by 62 per cent more than they did in Q4 2009. Search on Android phones has grown 300 per cent in the first half of this year, with about 160,000 Android devices being activated daily.

Although exact numbers are unclear at this stage, tens of millions of people are making mobile searches through Google, generating hundreds of millions of searches, with iPhone users, making up to 50 times more searches than people usingrs of standard mobile features.
