New PayPal app lets you bump money and split checks

A NEWLY launched Paypal app is going to let you bump money to your friends. The app, now available, allows you to send money via your PayPal account from your phone. The app, which works by using the iPhone’s inbuilt motion sensor, allows you to send money to a friend’s PayPal by bumping your iPhones together.

With this app you can also “split check” between friends at a restaurant and “collect money” off the people who owe you.

The app has been developed by Bump Technologies LLC, the application uses location-based technology and WiFi to enable exchange of data between two iPhones of iPod Touch devices when the gadgets are lightly bumped against each other.
