Place yourself with TwitterTWITTER Places has been launched, it should be available in the UK sometime this week. The new feature will allow users to tag their tweets with existing Twitter Places and create new locations. Users will also be able to click on their location and see who else is tweeting in the area. Twitter will also show you nearby locations and points of interest, including restaurants and shops. Twitter Places will be integrated with Foursquare and Gowalla too. Exciting stuff. Another interesting layer for Twitter, wonder if it is part of their plan to make money out of the site? Location based social media certainly starts to look like a plausible method for retailers to engage customers with proximity marketing offers. Leave your comments: |
