Motorola offers Baidu search on China smartphonesMOTOROLA has announced that Chinese buyers of its Android-driven smartphones can opt for local search engine Baidu instead of Google. A Motorola statement said: "Users will be able to select their search experience from a number of providers, including Baidu and others, with whom Motorola has signed strategic agreements." Google is considering stopping filtering search results as required by law in China and consequently may be forced to pull out of the country. Motorola announced the new Android handset feature along with the launch of its Chinese smartphone app store called “Zhi-Jian-Yuan”, which translates to "Place for Apps Wisdom" in English. Motorola is also collaborating with Chinese carriers and partners like Baidu to provide a suite of smartphone services including email, maps and search. Leave your comments: |
