Significant mobile marketing spend growth expected by 2015

MOBILE marketing is set for huge growth according to new research published by ABI Research, with expenditure predicted to exceed $1.2 billion by 2015.

Mobile advertising remains a marginal channel, but its various methods (messaging, search advertising, display ads, text applications and video) can provide lucrative and measurable marketing opportunities for businesses.

According to the research, 28 per cent of smartphone users access the mobile internet daily – at iSM we’re surprised to hear it’s not even higher than that

ABI´s practice director Neil Strother, said:"Marketers have increasingly been shifting budgets into mobile campaigns. They have been seeing year-over-year increases of 25 per cent to 30 per cent in campaign spending."
