Will they...won't they? Facebook set to announce location features?

REPORTS are emerging today that Facebook is set to launch its own location based services, with the social networking giant due to announce an update to its features and products on Wednesday.

Facebook’s much vaunted geo-location offering looks set to be announced from their Palo Alto campus on Wednesday after several hints in recent months that the service was imminent.

In May, the new product’s release was said to be no more than four weeks away. However, Facebook’s privacy changes took priority. However, by June Mark Zuckerberg was again intimating that the application was coming soon.

The move is a logical extension of the Facebook offering and third party developers and mobile marketers will be watching with interest.
