Chinese mobile internet market worth 63bn Yuan (£5.9bn)NEW research issued by Analysys International, the information and data provider in the Chinese IT market, has revealed that the number of mobile Internet users reached 214 million in the first half of 2010, with the market size set to hit CNY 23.7 billion.
With user numbers predicted to hit 300 million by the end of this year, and annual revenue will reach CNY 63.3 billion.
In the first half of 2010, the revenue of the Chinese mobile internet market was CNY 23.7 billion, versus CNY 18 billion in the same period of 2009. Growth was 32 per cent over the second half of the previous year.
Traffic charges reached CNY 14 billion, accounting for 59 per cent of total market revenue, application service revenue contributed CNY 9.7 billion, making up 41 per cent, wireless music, mobile phone reading, and mobile phone games accounted for 41.2 per cent, 12.6 per cent, and 11.3 per cent of the total application service revenue respectively.
