Facebook's mobile open graph set for geo-social mobile marketing?

FACEBOOK insiders are suggesting that the social networking site's new approach to its open graph platform that extends social content on the internet is going mobile.

The outcome of this is that Facebook seems set to let developers take advantage of the open graph to reach Facebook users and whilst at the moment they aren’t rushing to get advertisers on their mobile apps, the new platform is likely to eventually help businesses promote their brands, products and services to on-the-go consumers via location-based mobile apps.

Facebook's new mobile platform should improve the geo-social location market, making it more social. This could see location services enhanced by user generated content and recommendations. This could put Facebook at an advantage over services such as Foursquare or Twitter Places – and needless to say, the whole process is a major fillip for mobile marketers.
