Apps added to Google mobile search

GOOGLE's mobile search engine for iPhone and Android will from now on also search the app stores of the respective platforms.

The new addition to Google's mobile search was announced on Google’s Mobile Blog. From now on a Google mobile search will pull up links and clicking through will take you direct to an app in either the iPhone app store or the Android Market. This may prove to be a more efficient way of looking up new apps.

The blog update, posted by Milena Nikolic and Paul Hadfield, commented: “As mobile apps continue to proliferate in stores like Android Market and the iPhone App Store, finding relevant information on the web about these apps is becoming more important to help you decide which apps to download. In addition to helping you find the mobile app information you’re looking for, Google Search for mobile now also makes it easier for you to get the actual apps themselves while you’re searching.”
